Sin
is all that a person does in independence from God – a life without God. God is absolutely holy – He hates sin. But God in His mercy, seeking the salvation of the man fallen in sin and consecrated to death, created a way to forgive our sins. – His holiness and justice are fully met. God sent "His beloved Son" when the fulness of time came "(Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 1:1). Jesus Christ became man to die vicariously for sin.
There is only one way to God
that is clearly shown in the Bible:
The way is JESUS CHRIST!
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
(Acts 4:12)
Jesus Christ speaks: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
(John 14:6)
God, in His compassion for lost people, created this path Himself.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
(John 3:16)
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
(John 3:36)
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."
(John 5:24)
Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead and returned to heaven.
Now He is still preaching His gospel and "commanding men to repent (knowledge and repentance from sin) everywhere" (Acts 17:30). This offer of grace is valid until He comes soon to all who have accepted Him in faith to go to heaven. All others who have rejected the gospel then go to the eternal judgment of God (Acts 17:31).
We are aware of this serious fact and therefore "the love of Christ" urges us to proclaim the message of the love of God in the surrender of His Son until the Lord Jesus returns (2 Corinthians 5:11-14).
The Bible
– also called Holy Scripture – is the only written information that God has revealed and authorizes. Old and New Testament, the two major parts of the Bible are literally inspired by God in the scriptures.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
(2 Timothy 3:16)
The Bible is a basic, irreplaceable source of information that is completely reliable. The Bible describes people from the perspective of the holy God. She shows you her condition. She reveals to them what her future is.
